Footprints of Eminent Historical Figures of Macao
There are many great names in Macao throughout its history, including the local-born Xian Xinghai and Francisco Fernandes; Zheng Guanying and Ye Ting who settled down in Macao; Sun Yat-sen, Robert Morrison and George Chinnery who took Macao as their base for career development; and sojourners like Lin Zexu and Matteo Ricci. These great figures not only had a profound impact on the history of Macao, but also had representative roles and significance in Chinese and foreign history. All of them impregnated the city with traces of their presence which are well worth a revisit for gaining a glimpse of their legendary life.
