About the painter
Gao Jianfu (1879 – 1951), sobriqueted as Jue Ting, was a native of Panyu district of Guangdong province. He was schooled in Macao and then went to Japan to learn painting. He was a member of the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance (Tongmenghui) and the founder of Lingnan School of Painting of China.
