San Kio Garden
Seated adjacent to San Kio Sports Ground, the San Kio Garden was constructed in 1986 and named after the district it is located within. The site of the garden and the sports ground used to be the Lin Kai Square, the place where temple-goers of the past got off from the sedan chair that brought them around. By the modern times, the Peng Kei Food Shop was opened next to the garden. Occupying an area of 3000m2, the garden is known for its dainty layout. It houses an office and the pantry of the Neighborhood Association of San Kio District of Macao, which serves tea every afternoon. To the left of it is the hexagonal Lin Kai Pavilion with glazed roofing tiles and raised roof eaves. Next to the pavilion is a winding corridor decorated by traditional Chinese bonsai and potted plants. The overall landscaping of these structures is a quaintness of unique simplicity.
