The Lin Kai Temple

The Lin Kai Temple was built adjacent to Lin Kai (Lotus Stream) during reign of Emperor Daoguang of Qing dynasty, hence its name. A pantheon of deities that are popular amongst the people were venerated within. It underwent reconstruction after being destroyed by a typhoon shortly after its completion. In the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing dynasty, the temple was renovated to become how it looks today and is thus known as New Lin Kai Temple.
