St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church

Founded by the Jesuits in the 18th century, the Seminary had trained up plenty of talents for churches in China and Southeast Asia over the past two centuries. While George Smirnoff was working as an art teacher in St. Luiz Gonzaga College, he was so much focused on paintings that St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church became part of his depicted subjects. So far, most of his existing works in Macao are of this subject.
