Rua da Ribeira do Patane

Built on reclamation land of the 1960s, Rua da Ribeira do Patane has been a main artery running from south to north of Macao Peninsula. Its Chinese name “Sa Lei Tau” actually refers to the “Sa Lei Tau” Rock.
The building numbered 69 to 81 at Rua da Ribeira do Patane features “qilou” architectural style. The government has recently decided to convert it into a public library.
The Tou Tei (God of Earth) Temple of the Patane district is an age-old structure built against a hill and overlooking the waterfront. It stands at Rua da Palmeira and was built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing dynasty (1711-1799).
The Patane Municipal Market (also known as Waterfront Market) is located at Avenida de Demétrio Cinatti. It was built in 1976 and the government announced the reconstruction of the market in August, 2011.
